The receiver’s knees must be bent to enable the giver’s feet to push here and lift the receiver’s legs and lower body. If the receiver’s legs are too relaxed to do this, simply skip this element and move on.
The giver’s hands are placed under the dorsal and lumbar vertebrae, then gently lift the receiver’s body. Wait for gravity to bring the receiver's body back down.
The giver provides a soft rocking motion using only gentle
lifting pressure, and his legs can help by slightly moving back and forth.
The receiver is supported by the giver’s chest and legs.
The giver inhales deeply into his upper chest while inviting the
receiver to relax and soften her back more and more, breath by breath. This
subtle movement enables the receiver to sink into a deeper state of relaxation.
Hold the receiver securely but gently, then start softly rocking
side to side. Keep your shoulder under the receiver’s head to support it and
prevent it from dropping during the rocking motion.
This is similar to rocking side-to-side, but instead of a side
movement, the giver uses a circular movement…first clockwise then
counter-clockwise. Try to avoid any interruptions of the circular
motion…the smoother, the better.
Note here how the giver is squeezing the receiver’s hips, how
his legs create a circular movement, and how his arms are relaxed while still
holding her hands.
